Privacy Policy

Salida Upper Room Church (‘SURC’) has created this privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) to demonstrate our commitment to privacy. The following statement explains our information-gathering and dissemination practices. This Privacy Policy may change from time to time, so please check back periodically. Throughout this Privacy Policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” will mean SURC. This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of persons or entities that SURC does not control manage or employ.

What information does SURC collect from me as an end user?

You can browse our Site without telling us who you are or giving us any personally identifiable information about yourself. When you interact with us through your computer, our Site does record certain non-identifying site usage data, such as the number of hits and visits to our Sites. Our Site employs “cookies,” which are alphanumeric identifiers that we transfer to your computer’s hard drive through your web browser. We employ “cookies” to perform these functions: to let us know how long you are on to our Site; and to provide us with statistics regarding what pages of our Site you visited, and how long you spent there. You may configure your browser to accept all “cookies,” reject all “cookies,” or notify you when a “cookie” is sent.

Does SURC track my IP address?

When you visit the Sites, our web servers automatically collect limited information about your computer’s connection to the Internet, including your IP address. Your IP address does not identify you personally. We log your IP address to (i) deliver our web pages to you upon request; (ii) tailor our Site to the interests of our users; (iii) help diagnose problems with our server; (iv) administer our Site in order to constantly improve the quality of the Site; (v) measure traffic within our Site; and (vi) prevent fraudulent use of the Site by others.

How does SURC use my information?

SURC employs persons and entities to perform functions on our behalf, such as sending mail and email, or helping with the maintenance or set up of our servers or computers, providing online analytics or assessing web site effectiveness with A/B testing. Such persons or entities have access to your personally identifiable information needed to perform their functions, but are contractually prohibited from using such information for any other purposes. If you have provided your telephone number to us through our Site then you may be contacted by one of our staff members about urgent campaigns (such volunteers and staff members are bound by the terms of this Privacy Policy and will not use your personally identifiable information for any other purpose). If you send emails through this Site, we will use the personally identifiable information you submit in conjunction with such email as necessary to send the email.

How does SURC share and disclose my information?

We may share the Aggregated Data that we collect with business partners, content providers or other third parties to advance goals of research, education, dissemination of information, and the provision of services and support. SURC may have contractual arrangements with certain partners to provide information and services through the Site.  In addition, we may transfer your personally identifiable information to a successor entity upon a merger, consolidation or other corporate reorganization in which SURC participates or to a purchaser of all or substantially all of SURC’s assets.

Can I opt-out of receiving Communications?

To remove your personally identifiable information from our database so that you do not receive further Communications, you can email SURC. Requests filed in a timely manner will be processed within 10 days.

What constitutes my acceptance of this Privacy Policy?

By using the Site, you expressly consent to the use and disclosure of information as described in this Privacy Policy. SURC may modify this Privacy Policy at any time and will post a change notice with the new Privacy Policy on this Site. Your continued use of the Sites after the posting of the change notice to the Privacy Policy will be deemed to be your agreement to the changed terms.

Users Outside of the United States

Our computer systems and some of the computer systems of our third party service providers are currently based in the United States, so your personal data will be processed by us in the United States where data protection and privacy regulations may not offer the same level of protection as in other parts of the world, such as the European Union. As a visitor from outside the United States, by using the Site you agree to this Privacy Policy and you consent to the transfer of all such information to the United States, which may not offer an equivalent level of protection of that required in the European Union or certain other countries, and to the processing of that information as described in this Privacy Policy.
